Welcome!

It's so nice to meet you!

My name is Leah. I’m so thrilled you have stumbled across my website.

I am a Registered Social Worker living in Burlington, Ontario, providing 1:1 counselling sessions for members of my community; both youth (13+) and adults. I currently have the pleasure of working for a group practice in Oakville– Anchoridge Counselling.

Personal and Professional Experience

My academic and professional experience has led me to work in a variety of settings, operating from an array of therapeutic modalities (i.e., CBT, DBT, ACT, etc.). I have experience working in the housing and homelessness field, as well as outpatient mental health and addictions with individuals across Canada. My journey thus far has allowed me to walk alongside individuals who are struggling with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder and trauma, perfectionism, grief, low self-esteem, shame and addiction. I have found that these difficulties often reveal deeper questions of which we all ask in some way: what is my purpose? What is the meaning of my life? Do I have any worth or value? They also tend to reveal our deepest fears, longings and hopes for our future.

The Intersection of Counselling and Faith

In my experience, I have witnessed how God and his word are able to answer these questions personally. I have seen and experienced the ways that He walks with us in the midst of our deepest struggle and feelings of aloneness. I can personally attest to the ways that the gospel and the person of Jesus enables us to have joy amidst difficulty, peace amidst pain, and hope amidst the unpredictability of life. I am passionate about helping individuals navigate the challenges of life by examining biblical truths that will allow you to walk deeper and closer to God; in order to experience the transformation that only He can bring about in your life.

If you are interested in 1:1 counselling support operating from a faith-based perspective, I would love to hear from you! I offer free 15-minute meet and greets so that we can connect, hear more about what brings you to counselling and make sure that we are a good fit for one another.

Asking for help is not always easy, but life was never meant to be done in isolation. I hope you take the next step to seek the support that you need - be it with me or someone else you trust!
